FP&A Analyst
Zeroto20 is hiring an entry-level FP&A Analyst to join our growing team. This role is designed for a recent college graduate who is ready to work hard, learn fast, and build a real foundation in financial planning and analysis.
We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious, takes their work seriously, and shows up every day willing to figure things out. We will teach you the tools, the models, and the craft — but we cannot teach drive, intellectual humility, or care for the details. Those you need to bring.
You will work alongside experienced FP&A managers, Controllers, and our founder — who brings 20+ years of CFO/COO experience across successful startups. This is a rare opportunity to learn the fundamentals of FP&A inside a firm that operates across a diverse range of fast-growing companies.
What You Will Be Learning and Doing
You will start by supporting the team on structured, repeatable tasks and grow into more independent work over time. Below is a representative picture of what your day-to-day will look like.
Monthly Roll-Forwards
Help update financial models each month as actuals come in, rolling forward assumptions for headcount, spend, and revenue
Learn how to reconcile what the model projected versus what actually happened, and begin to understand why those differences occur
Support the team in preparing variance analysis and monthly reporting for clients
Revenue Recognition & Contract Audits
Learn how revenue is recognized across different business models and contract structures
Assist with reviewing client contracts to ensure revenue is being recorded correctly and consistently
Flag discrepancies and learn how to work through them with guidance from senior team members
Quarterly Investor Reporting
Assist with building quarterly investor reporting packages, including financial schedules and performance summaries
Learn what investors care about and how financial narratives are constructed and communicated
Board of Directors Slide Builds
Help build and format Board of Directors presentation materials, including financial slides and KPI summaries
Develop an eye for clear, accurate, and well-organized financial communication
Carta Administration
Learn Carta, an equity management platform used to track cap tables and equity-related activity
No prior experience required — you will be trained directly by senior team members
Ad Hoc Analysis & General Support
Support the team with data pulls, model updates, and analysis as questions and priorities arise
Pitch in wherever needed — in a nimble firm, being helpful and resourceful matters
What You Bring
We care far more about who you are than what you already know. Here is what we are looking for:
You are intrinsically motivated — you do not need to be pushed to do good work, because you hold yourself to a high standard
You are intellectually humble — you ask questions, acknowledge what you do not know, and treat feedback as something useful rather than something to defend against
You are diligent and detail-oriented — you notice when something does not look right and you do not let things slip through the cracks
You are organized and dependable — when you say you will do something, it gets done
You communicate clearly and proactively — you flag problems early rather than going quiet when things get confusing
You are genuinely curious about business and numbers — you find yourself wanting to understand how companies work, not just how to run a formula
You are comfortable not knowing the answer yet — and excited about the process of figuring it out
Background & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Internship, coursework, or project experience involving financial analysis, modeling, or accounting — even if limited
Working familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets (you do not need to be an expert, but you should not be starting from zero)
No prior full-time FP&A experience required — this role is built for someone at the beginning of their career
Our Tools & Systems
We work within the tools our clients use. You will be trained on what you need. Adaptability matters more than familiarity with any specific platform.
Excel / Google Sheets
QuickBooks
Carta (training provided)
CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
Others, depending on the client
If this sounds like you, please send a resume with your cover letter as the body of the email to careers@zeroto20.com. In your cover letter, tell us about a time you had to figure something out on your own — and what you did.
The salary range for this role is $60,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We are committed to investing in people who are committed to growing.
