Sr. Accountant
Zeroto20 is seeking an experienced operator with demonstrated success in Accounting to join our growing Accounting & Finance firm.
→ You will serve as a trusted partner both within our client’s organizations and within our firm.
→ You have relied-upon experience in all aspects of Accounting and will be able to bring that, and a strong partnership orientation to drive success.
→ You will be a key member of a nimble and talented team of professionals who offer critical support to our clients as they scale their businesses.
While your primary role is considered traditionally as back of house, we are seeking Accounting professionals who also have strong EQ and relationship building skills. Partnership is at the core of what we offer our clients. And true partners aren’t afraid to push back and do what’s right for the business as a whole.
You will be working closely with all members of our team including deeply experienced Controllers, and our founder who has 20+ years of CFO/COO experience at successful startups serving as both a partner and advisor to countless CEOs, VCs and Industry leaders. You will gain significant learning and growth as a member of the Zeroto20 team and our focus everyday is ensuring you are growing and motivated by your role.
What your day to day may look like:
While no day is the same in our support model, we have captured below what will typically be on your plate. As a reminder this may be across multiple clients.
Own the “Dailies”
Manage A/P Process for our clients with all bills going through a bill.com, ramp, or similar and presented twice monthly for “check runs”
Maintain A/R for our clients and help build a process to ensure order to cash is streamlined with all billing occurring on time and a collections process put in place – working with customer facing teams as necessary
Be a driver of streamlining order to cash, work with Zeroto20 and/or client operations to ensure that orders are placed in queue
Close the Books
Be an integral part of closing the books monthly and create a monthly closing package that includes balance sheet and other schedules that are audit-ready for our clients
Ensure QuickBooks is set-up with a proper Chart of Accounts to reflect the business and work with the operations team to update other systems appropriately (payroll, expenses, etc.)
If applicable, help lead audit prep including things like balance sheet accounts, testing sample collection, memo and process doc creation
Help the FP+A Team
Work to provide detailed reporting and other items to the FP+A team to help with board reporting, model building and model updating
Act as an Operational Counterpart for our Clients
Ensure compliance with any necessary tax deadlines and work with external CPA for tax preparation providing any closing materials and other guidance necessary
Be primary source of state registration (for income tax purposes/nexus), vendor registration with customers, annual reporting, sales tax, etc.
Own payroll process and processing for our clients and manage any employee lists/census, and org chart creation
Own expense reimbursement process and processing (as a part of payroll typically)
Own benefits administration including employee enrollments, open enrollment and auditing monthly invoices
Own employee onboarding and offboarding

We adopt and adapt to the tools and systems that our clients use, so we are looking for Accountants that have experience and exposure to many different systems, especially those more typical to smaller environments like the start ups we work with. We rarely use large enterprise tools. Our typical tools are:
Quick Books
Ramp
Expensify
Stripe
Brex
And others

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000. Our salary data is based on internal and external data. The final offer will vary based on assessment of a candidate’s skills and ability and our budget data.
